If your ex is a woman

The question becomes more challenging if your ex is a woman. Women are known to be intractable mysteries. The more beautiful a woman is, the more enigmatic she is or appears.

The fact that you have already spent some time with your ex girlfriend can be very helpful in analysing her thought process. Granted that women are mysterious, yours has already unravelled herself to you -both literally and figuratively– to a great extent. The aura of mystery that might have surrounded her when you met her first may have diminished quite substantially or even vanished over the time.

You have the experience of her responses to given situations. How long, for example, does she remain hot with anger over what she does not like? How does she react when her wishes are thwarted? The anger of some people appears and disappears like a soap bubble.

There are others who refuse to cool down whatever the quality and quantity of the ‘coolant’ you apply. Even if they cool down internally, they would maintain their appearance due to their ego.

Women, by and large, are more soft-hearted and less stubborn than men. They are amenable to explanations, persuasion and expressions of regrets, more so, if these efforts are accompanied by hugs and kisses. How do you assess her on this count?

If your ex is a man

Some men are more egoistic, pedantic, authoritative and revengeful, while others are gentle, docile and compromising. Some become dependent upon their women lovers. They seek comfort and solace in their cuddly hugs whenever they find themselves in difficult situations. While some are adventurous about women and can keep hopping, there are those who heave a sigh of relief when they succeed in getting someone to live with. Some realize their mistakes pretty soon, while others remain adamant.

Since you have spent some time with your ex and known their likes and dislikes, steadfastness or flexibility, it should not be much difficult to put yourself in their shoes and empathise with them, Just rewind the old days, picture their behavioural patterns in various situations and it would not be impossible to guess what is on their mind. May be, your man is temperamental. He left you in a huff, a heat of situation and is repenting now, finding excuses to save the situation and come back.

Here is, however, a proviso for correct analysis. You have to be as much open, objective, calm and ‘selfless’ as possible in judging your ex. If you are judgmental, prejudiced and reactive, you may not be able to make a correct assessment.
