If guys voluntarily avoid promises in post-sex conversations, this could increase the chances of women terminating the relationship due to perceptions of undesirable characteristics and/or doubt in the future of the relationship. In addition to this, for your information, women are more likely to fall asleep first if sex hasn’t commenced.

The reason behind men staying awake longer is probably due to the artifact of mate guarding, making sure their partner does not stealthily leave them for another man. Men may also stay up longer in attempts to persuade their partners to have adult sex. As the benefits and costs of having adult sex differ for men and women, women may have an inclination to fall asleep first to decrease the chances of having sex in most circumstances.

Is it just me or is this study seems kind of depressing? The girls sound like cold nags, and the guys sound kind of idiotic. And it’s worth mentioning that the passive-aggressive avoidance of the “so what are we?” conversation is well pointed out. That’s definitely a good buzzkill coming from these cuddle scientists.
